Everyone has probably come across radish in a salad, but baked radish is not as popular. Yet in vain! Because slightly heated radish tastes splendidly! Juicy, crunchy and somewhat softer and sweeter in taste. This may become your favourite way to enjoy radishes.
If you don’t want to turn on the oven, you can also make them in a pan. In the summer time, they are especially good when made over a fire. What a wonderful idyll!
Quantity: a small baking tray
Time: approx. 30 min
Difficulty level: easy
- 500 g radishes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp liquid honey or maple syrup
- 2 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 large garlic cloves
- 2 slices of lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme, if desired
Preparation:
Wash the radishes, cut the bigger ones in half and put them in a baking tray together with sliced lemons. Lightly massage the radishes with oil, honey, mustard seeds, grated garlic and salt and pepper.
Bake the radishes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes (depending on the oven and the size of the radishes), until the radishes are still slightly crunchy. If desired, switch the oven to grill mode at the end. Serve with fresh thyme and enjoy.
