Broth cubes and all kinds of ready-made concentrates often contain sugar, too much salt, yeast, palm oil, or even colouring, flavouring, and preservatives that are not necessary for us. So there is no better broth than your own. Neither in composition nor in taste.
If at first glance making broth may seem like a good undertaking, in fact it is not at all, because the active part is only a matter of a little preparation and then the broth simmers calmly on the stove on its own.
The inspiration for this broth comes from the original Medical Medium Blog. It is called “healing broth” and there is a reason, because each component contains a lot of valuable properties.
Quantity: 2 liters
Preparation time: 10 minutes of active time + 2-4 hours of passive one
Difficulty level: easy
- 4 carrots
- 2 ribbed celeries
- 2 onions
- 50 g chopped parsley
- 100 g shiitake (dried ones are also suitable)
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 bulb of garlic (approx. 6-8 cloves)
- 2.5 cm piece of ginger
- 2.5 cm piece of turmeric root
- 2 litres of water
Preparation of healing broth:
Cut all the components into smaller pieces and pour them into a pot with water. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and cook evenly for 2-4 hours on low heat. Serve as a soup or strain and use the broth.
The broth can be preserved in a fridge for 5-7 days.
Tip! If you wish, you can freeze part of the broth into ice cubes. It is good to use them later, for instance, when frying without oil.
